After a series of unfortunate events, the local Cars & Coffee has come back to life! I dragged the SL out to give it a brief cleaning and to run it a bit, now that the weather is starting to warm up.
Jaguar XK120-M. Survivor car, second owner. Never been repainted Absolutely incredible condition.
Porsche 912. Fantastic shad of green.
I’ve been waiting for a long time to get these two cars next to each other. An 850CSi BMW Motorsports Edition and my SL600 Sport. The two kings of the 1990's. The baddest V12 coupes available in the USA, still proud as can be.
Which V12 would you rather? 850CSi, or SL600 Sport?

850CSi without a doubt.

It's gorgeous. The 8 series is a 10 where the merc is a 6 or maybe a 7.

Sorry :/
It lacks flip lights and isn't a pillar less coupe. Those are tough handicaps to overcome.

also 6-speed vs auto. and i’m going to guess they made about 1/10th as many CSi’s as they did SL600s.
the SL with the 12 speed is indeed an amazing car, but if i had to choose, i hate to say i’d go with the CSi also.

Yeah, but you’ll be able to count on the SL to get you wherever you’re going, any day of the week.

I don’t think anyone today looks at the 90's BMW V12s and thinks “those must be super reliable!”
